The State Conference for Young Authors and Artists

August 12th & 13th, 2011

Milwaukee Art Museum

Every year, some of Wisconsin’s most talented young authors, artists and teachers travel from all corners of the state to gather for two days in the state’s most beautiful building, the Milwaukee Art Museum. They collaborate to create the next edition of the book entitled:

Wisconsin Writes

Students and teachers come together explore the museum and its art in search of inspiration. Stories and sketches emerge and meld into our annual publication. They leave behind evaluations frequently claiming the experience as “one of the best times in my life.”

The Milwaukee Art Museum has sponsored annual Young Authors and Artists conferences for 22 years with over 10,000 Wisconsin students who have both participated and been published.

Wisconsin students grades 4 through 12 (as of September) are invited to register to attend this year’s conference on Thursday and Friday, August 12th and 13th. A two-day admission pass is included in the conference fee. Continental breakfast and lunch are served on Friday. The fee also covers the publication and distribution of the next edition of Wisconsin Writes.

Interested young authors and artists are encouraged to register via this website. Registration is limited to 300 students.
